The brief

Vincenzo turns a phone photo of a pet into a painted portrait in a royal role: La Zarina, Le Roi Soleil, Lady Vanitas, L'Imperatore. The buyer is a US pet owner buying a gift, often late at night, often on a phone. The store had to feel like a jeweller, not a print shop, and make a three-step order feel effortless.

What made it hard
  1. 01Selling a personalised product without a clunky upload-and-wait experience
  2. 02Giving the buyer confidence before they see the result
  3. 03A voice that is grand without being a joke
  4. 04A production pipeline behind it that doesn't need a designer per order
The signature: from a phone photo

The customer sends a snapshot from the sofa. What comes back is painted in a role. Real orders, real pets.

Roles, not styles

Each role is a collection with its own costume, light and copy. “Your dog already thinks he’s royalty. Make it official.”

What I built

  1. 01
    Roles, not styles

Each role is a collection with its own copy and portraits, so choosing feels like casting, not configuring.

  2. 02
    Three-step ordering

Upload a photo, choose a role, approve the portrait. The approval step is the trust step; nothing is printed until the customer says yes.

  3. 03
    Copy with a wink

“Your dog already thinks he's royalty. Make it official.” Direct, confident, never a parody.

  4. 04
    Vincenzo Studio

The private app that runs production: order in, portrait generated, customer approval, print file out. Its own case study.

One photo, one role, one yes. The approval step is the trust step: nothing is printed until the customer says so.

Where it stands

  • A complete brand and store for the US market, built and run by me
  • The approval step removed the biggest objection to personalised gifts: what if it looks wrong?
  • The production app means the business runs without a designer on each order
